Daniel Craig Has Been Offered $150 Million To Play Bond Again. Cross Your Fingers

Internet speculation on who will be the next James Bond never ceases, but according to Radar, Sony has offered Daniel Craig a truly astounding $150 million to reprise his role as the timeless British super spy in the next two Bond features.

If the rumor is true, it would certainly appear as though the last thing Sony wants to do is bring in a new Bond after the box office success of the James Bond films under Craig’s reign.

A source told Radar, “The studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor. Everyone knows how much executives adore him, and the idea of losing him at such a crucial time in the franchise isn’t an option as far as all the studio honchos are concerned,”

Should Craig decide to back away from the franchise and it’s big money, a list of potential successors for 007 include Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Michael Fassbender.

Radar’s source also implied that if he took the offer, it would be only for the next two Bond installments which would be filmed in rapid succession. Then, it would be time to bring in the next Bond actor, according to the source.

“They will shoot two more films, which will be made virtually back-to-back preferably featuring Daniel as 007 before he passes the figurative baton to someone else for a third movie that will mark the start of the new era.”

But we’re talking this with more than a grain of salt, as Daniel Craig famously said he’d rather “slash my wrists” than play 007 again, though colossal multi-million paychecks can have a way of changing the minds of fed-up movie stars.

Let’s cross our fingers and hope that the second best Bond takes the offer so we can get two more great films before they hire a woman to play Bond.
